ONGC Himalayan Association, Assam
Chapter organized a Trekking cum Environmental Awareness Programme
at Nitai Panidihing & Bird Sanctuary, Sivasagar district on 1st
November, 2014 where the topmost luminaries of Assam Asset joined in all the
schedules. The programme was flag off by the honourable ED-Asset Manager and
Chief Patron, ONGCHA-Assam Chapter, Shri B. K. Baruah at ONGC Officers’Club,
Nazira.
Travelling a distance about 50 km
from the starting point, ONGCHA-Assam Chapter in association with ONGC All
India Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Employees Welfare Association
(AISCSTEWA), Assam organized an
environmental awareness programme at Tengapani Tribal M. E. School of Panidihing area. An inaugural meeting with the school students, teachers and villagers was held followed by plantation in the school campus. On the occasion, Shri B. K. Baruah, ED-Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset was felicitated by Shri Upadhyay, Headmaster of Tengapani Tribal M. E. School. Shri Budhin Deuri, GGM-Surface Manager was felicitated by Shri Daleswar Tai, Headmaster of Tengapani TribalL. P. School. After that the other dignitaries of ONGC, Assam Asset were felicitated including Shri J. K. Ghai, GM-Head (E&T), Shri A. K. Agrawal, GM-Head Logging Services, Shri Atul Garg, GM (Civil), Shri S. K. Srivastava, GM (Elect), Shri R. P. Pandey, President, CWC, Association of Scientific &Technical Officers (ASTO) andShri P. R. Mili, President, CWC, AISCSTEWA and Working President of ONGCHA, Assam Chapter.

Shri Nitya Dutta, Coordinator,
ONGCHA-Assam Chapter presented a brief details about the programme while Shri
P. R. Mili delivered speech something more about the activities of ONGC, Assam
Asset and ONGCHA-Assam Chapter in the operational areas of ONGC particularly in
Sivasagar district. Shri Mili said about how ONGC is delivering services to
nation building both in economically and socio-culturally. He unfolded about
the dedication of each and every ONGCian which is silently contributing in the
nation growth.

The school headmasters, Shri Uapadhyay
and Shri Tai expressed thankfulness to the authority of ONGC, Assam Asset for
identifying their place and conducting the programme.
Before valediction and giving a mark
to the environmental awareness programme, a plantation programme was conducted at Tengapani
Tribal M. E. School where Shri B. K. Baruah, ED-Asset Manager and Shri Budhin Deuri,
GGM-Surface Manager, members of ONGCHA-Assam Chapters, villagers and school
students participated.
Trekking at
Panidihing Bird Sanctuary:
A trekking programme into the jungle of Panidihing Bird Sanctuary was conducted
where top dignitaries of ONGC, Assam Asset including Shri B. K. Baruah,
ED-Asset Manager, Shri Budhin Deuri, GGM-Surface Manager and all those who
attended in the above meeting joined with the members of ONGCHA-Assam Chapter. All
the participants enjoyed the programme unfolding high attitude of unity beyond
working for exploration and production of oil and natural gas for the
development of the country.
This kind of activities conducted by
ONGC Himalayan Association, Assam Chapter is also helping the ONGC operations for maintaining social
correlation in operational areas of ONGC in Assam.
