ONGC Himalayan Association works along with different Chapters / Units located in various work centres of ONGC all over India. ONGCHA - Assam Chapter is actively functioning at ONGC, Assam Asset cultivating the sense of adventure and team spirit with various outdoor activities. This vibrant body has been working towards organizing environmental awareness campaign through tree plantations, rallies, etc and has been organizing also various socio-cultural events for mutual co-operation among people in and around the operational area of ONGC, Assam Asset.
ONGCHA - Assam Chapter has been either organizing several Trekking Expedition & Mountaineering camps in different times or sponsoring individual for participation in different national level camps / programmes of expedition and adventurous activities.
ONGCHA - Assam Chapter has recently undertaken successfully the some prestigious expeditions at Kaziranga National Park, Nameri National Park, Nagaland, etc.
In continuation with the past practices, ONGCHA is planning to organize a two day trip to Poroshuramkunda to Miodia of Arunachal Pradesh, which is surrounded by hills and hillocks, natural caves and rocks and which is considered to be an ideal place for camping, trekking, and it is known as the trekkers fancy. This will be a golden feather in the OONGCHA - Assam Chapter endeavor for trekking and mountaineering. The trekking time is considered the most suitable from November to March. Mountaineering / trekking camp at Poroshu Kunda and Miodia Valley will help employees rejuvenate themselves in the lap of nature and snow. The tentative date for the programme is10th 11th & 12th February, 2012.
