ONGCHA - Assam Chapter completed Trekking Expedition at Curzon Chapori, Kaziranga

Since its inception ONGC Himalayan Association (ONGCHA), an in-house adventure club of ONGC, has undertaken diverse and significant adventure activities such as Mountaineering, High Altitude Trekking, Rafting, Para sailing/Gliding, Camel Safari at Great Thar Desert, Bike and Car Rallies, Environment Awareness Programme to enhance qualitative traits such as physical and mental stamina, leadership, team spirit, mutual co-operation, discipline and love to nature etc.

In the recent past, Assam Chapter of ONGCHA successfully completed a Car Rally cum Trekking Expedition and Tree Plantation at Curzon Chapori and Hatipathor at Kazironga National Park. The car rally was started from ONGC, Assam Asset premises located at Nazira of Sivasagar district. The ONGCHA Regional Unit at ONGC, Assam Asset concluded Adventure cum Environmental Awareness Programme after long break of almost 5 years. Kaziranga National Park in Curzon Chapori location called the great Laodubi where The Lord and Lady Curzon found First Rhinoceros and found Kaziranga later on from this spot Kaziranga preserved as a National Park. This spot was chosen for Trekking Expedition and tree plantation was done inside Kaziranga as part of the programme.

Delivering speech during the programme at Kaziranga, Shri S. D. Vyas, President, ONGCHA – Assam Chapter stated that ONGCHA activities help strengthening ties with local people and physically fit the employee of the giant organization. Shri Nitya Dutta, Co-ordinator, ONGCHA - Assam Chapter highlighted the activities of ONGCHA. Marking the occasion, ONGCHA – Assam Chapter planted 8 extra-ordinary plants at Kaziranga National Park. The ONGCHA team was accorded warm welcome by the Governor Award Winning farmer Shri Kamal Kumar Gogoi.
